Sunday 29th November is the date for the seventh running of the Bass Belle 10 Miler. Why the name Belle? First, Bassingbourn is known for the famous airplane called the Memphis Belle. Secondly, the course itself is beautiful or in French - 'Belle'. This is a flat, fast course which consists of 8.5 miles on road and 1.5miles off road along a grass track. Course perfect for runners new at the distance or those training for a half marathon. Course measured by GPS.

Bass Belle 10 Miler - Sunday 29th Nov - CANCELLED!
Dear fellow runners, due to the ongoing uncertainity with the Covid-19 Pandemic, I am cancelling this years event. The requirements for races during Covid-19 in particular around social distancing have made it impossible for me to hold the race this year. The health and safety of runners, volunteers and indeed the residents of both Bassingbourn and the villages that the race goes through is the most important thing for me as race organiser to consider. Coupled with this I have also contacted the Parish Council and the Village College and both parties would not support the race this year due to the risk of bringing Covid-19 into the area. All runners who have already entered the race have been notified of the cancellation and also that their race entry has automatically been transferred to next year'srace which will be held on Sunday 28th November 2021. Unfortunately refunds are not possible as payments have already been made against this years event. I know that runners will be disappointed but I stress I am doing this on health and safety grounds. Happy running all and see you in 2021.
